The success of the 3 Cups of Tea event, on February 14, 2009, and the continued support and enthusiasm in our community for the work of the CAI has led us to organize the 2nd 3 Cups of Tea fundraiser to take place on:

It is more important than ever to help Greg and the CAI continue their mission to promote and support community-based education and literacy programs, especially for girls, in remote regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan.  "When you educate a girl through the 5th grade you reduce infant mortality, reduce the population explosion, and improve the basic quality of life." As Mortensen said during a talk at the City College of San Francisco on March 4, 2009, "girls are teaching their mother's to read".  The only way to PEACE in this world is through EDUCATION. 8:30 - 9:00 Final bids for Silent Auction & Artwork pickup

Sets of teacups will once again be donated by the Santa Cruz Clay Community. This year, local painters, photographers, metal workers and other artists have also been invited to contribute a work of art. All art work will be theme related to the "3 Cups of Tea".  Artwork can be viewed online now.
